When submitting your online application, you need to prepare identification documents and fill out the application form as instructed. If you are currently on a monthly plan, it must remain active during the porting process. You don't need to notify your current telecom company because iTalkBB will take care of the rest for you. If you're using a prepaid SIM card, it must also remain active with a balance of at least HK$1.

• Q. Is real-name verification/registration required for a China or Hong Kong number? What documents are required, and how can I submit them?

  

  A: Both the Hong Kong number available through the iTalkBB Prime App and the China mobile number (visit the China Mobile SIM Card page（https://www.italkbb.com/us/en/MobilePhone） must comply with applicable regulations in Hong Kong or mainland China and require real-name verification/registration before they can be used.For a mainland China number, you can either visit an iTalkBB store in person with a valid second-generation Chinese Resident Identity Card, or submit an application through the Prime App using a valid U.S. or Canadian passport. After the application is approved, you will need to complete photo verification upon arrival in mainland China.For a Hong Kong number, you can submit the required information directly through the Prime App or your online account.

• Q. What if the porting process is unsuccessful?

  

  A. If the porting process on the specified date is unsuccessful due to incorrect document submission, you'll receive an email notification from iTalkBB. Follow the instructions in the email to reapply. Your phone number will still be retained with your previous telecom company, and it won't be lost. However, since you're still using the service from your previous company, you might be charged monthly fees. Therefore, it's recommended to allow ample time for the porting process and ensure the provided information is accurate.

• Q. When will the application take effect after I apply? Do I need to notify my current telecom company?

  

  A. The number porting application will typically take 3 to 7 business days to process with major telecom companies. Once the porting is successful, you will receive an email notification from iTalkBB. You don't need to notify your current telecom company. Once you complete the registration, iTalkBB will handle the remaining procedures and perform the porting on the specified date.

• Q. Do I need to complete real-name registration for the China/Hong Kong numbers in the iTalkBB Prime APP? What documents are required, and how do I submit them?

  

  A: Real-name registration is required for the China/Hong Kong numbers in the iTalkBB Prime APP to comply with relevant regulations. For the China number, the individual must personally bring a U.S./Canadian passport or Chinese second-generation ID card to the store for processing, while the Hong Kong number can be handled by submitting relevant information through the APP or an online account.
